Situated atop the world-famous dunes on prestigious Cooloola Drive, the only ocean-front street with ocean views in Rainbow Beach. A secluded retreat for those who want to feel immersed in the beautiful Great Sandy National Park and ocean front living. Sea breezes, crashing waves, birdsong, and awesome sunrise and sunset views from Fraser Island to Double Island Point.

Scribbly Gums is a much loved, simple-style family beach house offered for others to enjoy its fun, indoor-outdoor lifestyle surrounded by nature.

The living is all on one level flowing out to the pool and deck area. In fact, the three bedrooms have doors that open straight onto the pool, with views to the ocean beyond.

The large open plan kitchen-dining area is a gathering point in the house with plenty of room for preparing and enjoying meals and games together.

Two bathrooms give everyone comfortable space.

The home’s location offers the best of everything: high enough for the wonderful views, but not too high to walk home from the beach! The heart of town and the patrolled beach are just 10 minutes walk via the stairs at the end of Cooloola Drive, or use our secret path from the back gate to take you through the National Park to the sand dunes. You’ll also be in one of the closest spots in Rainbow from where you can walk to the Carlo Sand Blow for stunning sunrises and sunsets. And on top of it all, when you retreat to the privacy of the house and pool deck, you’ll feel a world away from the bustle of the the town.

From the tranquil deck area; listen to native birds in the surrounding banksias and gum trees, watch the paragliders sail past at eye level, and spot migrating whales (approx. June - Oct).

Take in the sunrise over Double Island Point, enjoy breakfast in the morning sun at the outdoor table, then chill out at the end of the day with sunset views followed by a BBQ dinner.

You can bring your dog along to enjoy the holiday, the yard is fully enclosed.

Sleeps six in one x king size bed, one x queen size bed, and one x double bed.

Please also note that Scribbly Gums now only caters for 6 people in three bedrooms rather than 8 people as mentioned in some reviews.

Walk to Carlo Sand Blow for sand sliding and watching the sunset over Tin Can Bay.

New bush walk from the house via the QPWS Information Centre office up to the top of Carlo Sand Blow and back to the house.

Please note that (unless specified in the description) our holiday properties are not supplied with linen. Properties are supplied with doonas/doona covers or blankets as well as pillows; however, you will need to BYO or hire linen from our office including: sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, hand towels, tea towels, face washers.

Babies or toddlers sleeping in a portacot or bassinet are not included in the maximum occupancy.

Portacots and high chairs can also be hired at an additional cost.

Please supply your own personal and household items such as washing powder, soap, dishwashing liquid, toilet paper etc.

Pet friendly properties are not all fully fenced, please refer to the individual property description. If you intend to bring a pet with you, please note that there is an additional $50 per pet levy payable.
